Always found with a twinkle in her eye, Leigh is a warm and fun teacher whose style you won’t want to miss. She lives in Yarmouth Port with her husband Lewis and their absolutely adorable son Kai. Leigh teaches at Power Yoga of Cape Cod in Harwich and Dennis Port, and is co-owner of the Dennis Port studio with presenter Jill Abraham.
What are you looking forward to about LYF? I love how yoga brings people together. I can't wait to teach, but also to take classes with hundreds of yogis from near and far. I love that this festival will showcase so many of the talented teachers that we have right here on Cape Cod. It is a wonderful yoga community.
Favorite pose? It's a tie between Pigeon and Half Moon!
Pose that challenges you the most? Dancer Pose is a pose that I LOVE but also one that challenges me the most. I love how it opens the heart but I am challenged by staying balanced and connected to my breath. I love going to my edge in this pose and it's fun to fall every once in a while!
Favorite spot on the Cape? Walking between Bayview and Corporation beaches in Dennis at low tide.
Any other fun facts you want to share? I was born on Martha's Vineyard and lived there for the first few years of my life. My dad was one of the island veterinarians. We moved a few times from there and finally settled in Belfast, Maine, where I grew up. After college, I moved to Boston, where I met my husband Lewis, who grew up on Cape Cod. It kind of feels like I have come full circle. I love going back to the Vineyard to visit the places my parents took us when we were so young. The Cape and the Islands are so incredibly beautiful and every day I am struck by how blessed I am to be here.
