What can attendees expect in your workshop at the culmination of a weekend designed to help unblock the energy that prevents us from living our true paths?

Chakras are energy centers in our bodies that represent different qualities in our emotional bodies. Most people have an imbalance in the chakras meaning some areas are more dominant than others. For example, someone who is out of balance in their third chakra may experience feelings of low self worth or an exaggerated ego. 

My workshop is designed to explain what the chakras represent so you can begin to notice what chakras are dominating your life. We will move through a flow to show you how your physical practice can help to balance your energy. Then we will take a restorative focus to reflect upon how these imbalances may be blocking you from moving forward in your life.

After this long New England winter, what are some of the ways we can help ourselves transition from winter to spring to limit injury and take really good care of ourselves?

Because this transition is such a welcome one, our bodies should adapt pretty easily. We are craving warmth and the great outdoors. If you've been a little stagnant this winter, just get outside! Walking, biking...anything to get some fresh air! During the wet spring, it's a great time to add a little fire into your yoga practice. I'll show you how to do that in my Chakra workshop!

Is there a favorite quote or mantra that inspires you?

I've always loved this Rumi quote:  "Out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there."

Off the mat, what are a few of your favorite things?

I love to spend time with my 2 year old son. Everything we do is a new adventure to him so I get to experience the wonders of the world again. I like to ski, dance, hike, and read. I love food and indulge in everything as long as it's "real food." Pizza and french fries included!
