Love Yoga Festival Brings Inaugural Event To Hyannis, Cape Cod August 15, 16 & 17!
HYANNIS (July 29, 2014) – During the weekend of August 15, Aselton Park on the Hyannis Harborfront will come alive for Love Yoga Festival, Cape Cod’s first-ever yoga and wellness event of its kind. This unique, fun and friendly event is open to beginners and advanced students alike, and also features a community marketplace along South Street that is open to the public.
Love Yoga Festival is proud to have attracted a highly sought-after group of presenters, including MC Yogi, DJ Drez, Amanda Giacomini, Wade Imre Morissette, Chanel Luck, Jacqui Bonwell, Kadri Kurgun and Coral Brown, plus nearly two dozen top teachers from Boston and the Cape and Islands.
Presented by Love Yoga Company with the support of premier sponsors Hy-Line Cruises and Red Jacket Resorts as well as contributing sponsor Solstice Day Spa, the festival was inspired by Cape Cod’s natural beauty and vibrant yoga community.
“Our goal is to cultivate greater kindness and awareness by making yoga accessible to more people,” explains festival co-founder Amanda Converse. “It is a transformative, healthy and fun practice that is open to everyone. We’re excited to create positive energy for our community through this special event.”
A stellar lineup, diverse classes and multiple ticket options
Passes for Love Yoga Fest are available for the full weekend of activities, one day only, or at the “bliss” level (the MC Yogi performance plus two classes which can be taken on either day).
On August 16 and 17, participants can choose from a diverse set of classes designed to restore and challenge, calm and energize. Start your day with a morning meditation led by Alicia Mathewson of Sounding Still Wellness, experience a slow vinyasa flow accompanied by acoustic guitar, try out slackline or acro yoga, learn about the art of balance through nutrition, choose a class focused on relieving tension in the back or hips, or any of the other wonderful options available.
At lunchtime, passholders and the public are invited to register or drop in for a series of community classes offered by top local teachers. Look for Yoga for Amputees led by inspiring innovator Marsha Terese Danzig, a gentle hatha class led by local non-profit Yoga Neighborhood (donations encouraged), a fun flow supported by a live samba band and more.
On Saturday evening, fest attendees will find it impossible to resist the infectious beats of MC Yogi and DJ Drez, the LA-based pioneers of yoga-themed rap who spread a message of love and peace to enthralled crowds all over the world. Local DJ Ian Sinnetti opens up for the duo at 7:30 p.m.
The first 100 purchasers of weekend passes may also register for a welcome party at the Cape Cod Maritime Museum on August 15 sponsored by Whole Foods Hyannis, Cape Cod Package Store and KeVita® Sparkling Probiotic Drinks. DJ Sinnetti and Cape Cod African Dance & Drum will perform at the party to benefit local non-profit Calmer Choice, which conducts transformative mindfulness training in schools and other settings in order to encourage confidence and inner strength as well as healthy stress management and conflict resolution skills. Donations are strongly encouraged. Only a few of these passes remain!
Tickets for Love Yoga Fest are on sale now. Find details on passes, perks, the schedule, the lineup, lodging recommendations and more at www.loveyogafest.com. A limited number of vendor spaces remain for the community marketplace as well as a few sponsorship opportunities.
