Emily Griffin
Emily Griffin

For Emily Griffin, living well is all about flow. In college, major digestive disorders sapped Emily’s energy, disrupted her once clear skin, and stole precious time from her busy schedule. Frustrated, she began researching homeopathic and Ayurvedic modalities, and began practicing yoga regularly. Combined with yoga and holistic healing, her health returned, and she found she was feeling better than ever.
These days, through her work as an Ayurvedic practitioner and yoga instructor, Emily helps clients throughout New England strike the balance between living well, but not becoming obsessed by the latest wellness trends. There is a give and take—a flow—to living healthy, and she’s a firm believer that, when paired with a mindful approach to food and movement, laughing with friends and the occasional indulgence go a long way to living well.
Emily is an Ayurvedic Practitioner, 500hr certified yoga teacher & Ayurvedic yoga specialist. She is a lululemon athletica ambassador and a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). Emily is based in Boston.

Mary Catherin Starr
Mary Catherin Starr

Mary Catherine Starr, E-RYT 500, has been living, breathing, and teaching yoga since 2010, when she completed her first teaching training at Tranquil Space in Washington, DC. She found yoga after suffering from a running injury and was immediately hooked; the flow and moving meditation of vinyasa yoga quickly became her favorite type of therapy and exercise.

Mary Catherine’s teaching style has been described as sunny, encouraging, and inclusive, her classes as upbeat, nurturing, and challenging. She places a huge emphasis on listening to your body while practicing, as she believes that the modern-day individual tends to ignore his or her body until it screams out for attention (which she has sadly learned from experience).
Mary Catherine is from Atlanta, GA, but currently lives on Cape Cod with her husband, toddler, and dog. When she is not teaching or practicing yoga, she can be found running her small design + consulting business, painting, or blogging. Learn more at marycatherinestarr.com.

Sami Lea Lipman
Sami Lea Lipman

Sami will tell you that yoga saved her life; it is from a place of determination and vulnerability that she shares her love of the practice. Harrowing experiences with trauma and grief completely changed Sami’s outlook on life in her late 20’s. Yoga was no longer simply a way to challenge her physicality; but rather became an imperative tool towards survival and peace. Armed with experience and empathy, Sami’s classes mix creatively challenging sequencing with candid rawness.
Sami completed her first 200 Hour Teacher Training in Austin, TX in 2008 with her mentor, Desirae Pierce. She has attended Baptiste Institute’s Level One, Two, & Three and assisted various programs with Baron Baptiste. A student of Christina Sell and John Friend, Sami is deeply inspired by the steadfast alignment of (what was) Anusara. Sami is currently enrolled in Down Under School of Yoga’s 300 Hour Teacher Training under the guidance of Natasha Rizopoulos. A true believer in learning from many mentors and lineages, Sami draws inspiration from her studies with Patricia Walden, Seane Corn, Shiva Rae, Barbara Benagh, Amy Ippoliti, Jeanie Manchester, Sianna Sherman, Gioconda Parker, Leah Cullis, Mary Taylor, Stephen Uvalle, David Kyle, Duncan Wong, Ray Long, and more.
Sami has been featured in various national publications as a cover model, teacher, and contributor including Origin Magazine , Mantra Yoga & Health , Colorado Yoga Magazine, New York Yoga + Life ; and The Yoga Fix . With a gypsy-like thirst for travel, Sami leads retreats around the world. From Burning Man to Wanderlust, she has taught and assisted at many festivals and events, but her most humbling memory was the opportunity to teach at The White House during the annual Easter Egg Roll celebration. Teaching yoga to smiling children as the President and First Lady led the national anthem is something she’ll never forget. Upon moving to Boston in early 2017, Sami joined the management and teaching faculty at Down Under School of Yoga where she serves as the director of marketing and development.
